Sow nutrition and diet

Breeding sow

The daily feed intake of 80-90kg gilts should not exceed 2kg of compound feed. The diet of gilts should contain 3.1 megacal/kg of digestion energy, 15% crude protein, 0.7% lysine and 0.82% calcium. Phosphorus is 0.73%, and an adequate supply of trace elements and vitamins is required.

Sow during pregnancy

The nutritional characteristics of pregnant sows are to control appropriate levels of nutrition. According to China's feeding standards, when the weight of the sow in the pre-pregnancy period (the first 80 days after pregnancy) is 90-120 kg, the daily feed intake is 1.7 kg, the body weight is 120-150 kg, and the daily intake is 1.9 kg, 150 kg or more. 2kg. In the late pregnancy (one month before birth), the body weight is 90-120kg, 120-150kg, 150kg or more, and the daily feed intake is 2.2kg, 2.4kg, 2.5kg compound feed. The nutritional level of the diet is 12%-13% crude protein, 2.8-3.0 megacal/kg digestibility, 0.4%-0.5% lysine, 0.6% calcium and 0.5% phosphorus. In addition, in addition to feeding the compound feed, in order to make the sow feel full and add vitamins, it is best to mix with a variety of excellent green feed or roughage.

For sows that are thin after weaning, the feed intake should be increased from 10 days before breeding until the breeding condition is restored after breeding. For sows with a sensation of 70% in the first trimester of pregnancy, the low-nutrition level is given in the early stage of pregnancy, and the feed intake is increased in the later stage (according to the feeding standard). For young sows, due to their own development and the needs of the fetus, feeding methods that gradually increase the nutritional level should be adopted throughout the pregnancy. Regardless of the type of sow, short-term superior feeding is required in the late pregnancy (90 days to 3 days before delivery) by adding 1 kg of compound feed per head per day.

Childbirth sow

5-7 days before labor, the concentrate should be reduced by 10%-20% of the diet, and wheat bran can be added to the diet, which can be increased to half of the original feed to prevent constipation. It is best not to feed the food 10-12 hours before delivery, but it should meet the drinking water, and the cold water should be warmed. On the day of delivery, you can feed 0.9-1.4kg of the diet, then gradually increase the amount, and reach the feeding standard and feeding amount of the lactating sow after 5-7 days. Sows are best fed a dose of antibiotics within 7-10 days prior to delivery to prevent various diseases in piglets and sows.

Lactating sow

The crude protein in the compound feed of lactating sows should be 14%-15%, digestive energy 2.9-3.1 mega-cal/kg, salt 0.4-0.5%, lysine 0.5-0.6%, calcium 0.65%, phosphorus 0.5% , pay attention to adequate supply of trace elements and multivitamins. The key points for lactating sows should be the amount of daily feeding and the number of times. Do not feed too much after delivery, gradually increase the daily feeding amount after 3-5 days, and turn to normal after 7 days. 10-20 days after delivery, the daily feeding amount should reach 4.5-5kg compound feed, reach 5.5-6kg for 20-30 days, and gradually decrease to about 5 kg for 30-35 days. It is better to feed 4 times a day, and the time is 6 o'clock, 10 o'clock, 14 o'clock and 22 o'clock every day. Lactating sows are best fed with wet materials at a ratio of material to water of 1:0.5-0.7.
