In the drum dryer , according to the flow direction of the material and the hot gas, it is divided into two types: the downstream type and the counter flow type. The flow direction of the downstream dryer material is the same as that of the hot air flow. Why do the dryers mostly use the downstream type ?
The main features of the downstream are:
1. At the hot end of the dryer , the temperature difference between the material and the hot gas is large, the heat exchange process is rapid, and a large amount of water is easily evaporated, which is suitable for materials with higher initial moisture.
2. After the viscous material enters the dryer , the surface moisture is easy to evaporate, which can reduce the adhesion and facilitate the material movement. When used to dry wet coal, it can avoid the high temperature gas directly contacting dry coal and causing fire.
3. The low pressure at the hot end of the downstream operation can reduce the amount of air leakage entering the drying, which is beneficial to stabilize the temperature and flow rate of the hot gas in the dryer.
4. Feeding and coal supply are the same as the hot end of the dryer , and the workshop layout is convenient.
5. The downstream operation of the dryer has a low discharge temperature and can generally be transported by a belt conveyor.
In consideration of the characteristics of the materials, the particle size, the final moisture requirements of the materials, and the layout of the workshop, most manufacturers use the down-flow type of the tumble dryer.
According to the characteristics of the downstream dryer, it is suitable for the drying of materials in the following cases:
(1) The material with high initial moisture content and low final moisture content is not required.
(2) Drying of high temperature sensitive materials such as coal and active mixed E61104829D5BD879 . Since the dry material is not in contact with the high-temperature and low-humidity gas, the combustion of the coal or the loss of volatile matter can be avoided, and the loss of activity of the mixed material can be avoided.
(3) For viscous materials with high plasticity, dryer manufacturers can reduce the risk of material bonding cylinders. However, when the material block is large, it should not be used because it is easy to form a hard shell on the surface due to rapid evaporation of water, which affects the evaporation of internal moisture and is not easy to dry, so that the final moisture content of the material is high.
