Sintered ordinary bricks are ordinary bricks obtained by roasting clay or shale, coal gangue and fly ash as raw materials. Sintered ordinary bricks with clay as the main raw material, which are made by batching, billeting, drying and roasting, are referred to as clay bricks (symbol N). There are two kinds of red bricks and blue bricks. When the brick kiln is baked in an oxidizing atmosphere, a red brick is obtained. If the brick is fired in an oxidizing atmosphere, then the kiln is smoldered in a reducing atmosphere, and the red high-valent iron oxide in the brick is reduced to a blue-gray low-cost iron oxide, that is, a green brick. The green brick is stronger than the red brick, and has good alkali resistance and durability. But the price is more expensive than red brick. According to different calcination methods, sintered clay bricks can be further divided into internal combustion bricks and external combustion bricks. The internal combustion brick is made by incorporating flammable industrial waste such as cinder and fly ash into the raw clay material. When the brick is fired to a certain temperature in the kiln, the fuel in the body is burned and the porcelain is brickized. The internal combustion brick saves a lot of external coal than the external combustion brick, saves 5%-10% of the raw clay, increases the strength by about 20%, reduces the apparent density of the brick, and enhances the sound insulation performance. When the bricks are roasted, the heat should be properly controlled to avoid the occurrence of under-fired bricks and over-fired bricks. The under-fired bricks are light in color, dull in sound, low in strength, high in water absorption, and poor in durability. Over-fire bricks are dark in color, crisp in sound when struck, high in strength, low in water absorption, but more curved and deformed. Both underfired bricks and overfired bricks are unqualified products.
