In October, China's steel import and export decreased slightly

According to the latest customs statistics, in October China's steel import and export decreased slightly, and iron ore imports fell.

In October, 2.86 million tons of steel were exported, a decrease of 150,000 tons from September, an increase of 5.54% over the same period of last year. From January to October, the cumulative export volume reached 36.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 99.8%.

In October, China imported 1.14 million tons of steel, which was 180,000 tons less than in September, a decrease of 22.97% over the same period of last year. From January to October, it imported 13.63 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.2%.

In October, 10,000 tons of billet was exported and a total of 140,000 tons was exported from January to October. In October, 60,000 tons of billet was imported, an increase of 20,000 tons compared with September. From January to October, imports totaled 490,000 tons, which was 88.3% lower than the same period of last year.

In October, China exported 220,000 tons of coke, an increase of 180,000 tons year-on-year. In the January-October period, exports totaled 2.64 million tons, an increase of 534.

In October, 45.72 million tons of iron ore was imported, a decrease of 6.88 million tons from the previous month, an increase of 0.55% year-on-year. From January to October, imports totaled 503.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%.
