The Netherlands has developed biodegradable bioceramics

Researchers at the University of Twente in the Netherlands have recently developed a new kind of bioceramic material that can be degraded in the human body. This biomaterial can make the body produce new bone cells.

The researchers said that the bioceramic material is made of porous calcium phosphate, and after implanted in the human body, it can stimulate the surrounding tissue to produce new bone cells, thereby promoting healing of the bone tissue in the affected part. When the bone in the affected area completely heals, the biomaterial will be completely degraded and replaced by the newly generated bone.

It is reported that the University of Twente's research on this kind of bio-ceramic material has lasted for nearly 10 years. After completing relevant verification and approval, the material is expected to be put into clinical application in recent years.
