EMS launches FTB series of high performance ultra-thin micro motors

Ultra-thin motors have been widely used in many fields such as medical instruments, robots, safety devices and equipment. Not long ago, EMS (ElectroMechanicalSystems) introduced the FTB (FaulhaberGroup) series of high-performance ultra-thin micro motors. The series of motors are available in direct drive and gear drive versions with rated torques from 0.05mNm to 3mNm and 50mNm to 80mNm.
The FTB series motors contain three flat elliptical iron-free windings that rotate in an axial magnetic field with minimal moment of inertia. This unique design guarantees excellent acceleration performance on the one hand and vibration suppression on the other hand, while also providing convenience for the cogging design. In addition, the excellent linearity makes the FTB series easy to handle many speed-critical speed control tasks.
The biggest feature of the series is the ultra-thin design. The direct drive version is only 5.2mm~8.2mm thick, and the gearbox version with gearbox is only 12mm~19.1mm thick, which helps to reduce the final product. The total volume is ideal for modern equipment manufacturing. FTB's full range of motors are available in 3V and 6V power supplies, and EMS also offers models for voltages from 2V to 24V. The recommended maximum operating speed for the direct drive version is between 5,500 rpm and 10,000 rpm. The actual value is determined by the specific model size.
In addition to the geared version of its integrated gearbox, EMS offers a wide range of gear shifting components for most models in the FTB series. For example, the 20mNm models have a speed ratio range of 19:1 to 4,629:1 and 50mNm models are 23: 1 to 1, 443: 1.

Silicon Mirror

Precision Optical Flats are ideal for a variety of applications including interferometry, imaging systems, laser applications, optical path folding, and autocollimation. These mirrors are available in a variety of coating and substrate options, along with surface flatness options of λ/10 and λ/20. Fused Silica, is optically clear and features excellent resistance to abrasion and high durability, making it the best choice for applications in harsh environments.

Silicon features a Knoop Hardness of 1150 and low density, making it tougher than germanium substrates and suitable for weight-sensitive applications, respectively. Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Coated Silicon Windows are engineered for 3 to 5µm, making them ideal for infrared defense applications such as thermal imaging.
Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Coated Silicon Windows provide anti-reflection coating on one surface and a specially designed DLC coating on the other surface, making these windows highly durable and ideal for harsh environments.
